I finally plugged the pull and got a MacBook Air M1 🙂

Things that WOW me

• Battery life! 16-20hrs of screen time with a single charge is unbelievable for me! I can use my MacBook longer than my phone will last on a charge and not being used, standby.
• How this it is
• Surprisingly the weight of it kinda more than I expected being this thin.
• Build quality
• The Retina display! It’s not even running at native resolution scale but the scaling options in macOS allows to get the perfect space. And the imagery it produce is something I never seen before.
• Sounds! No explanation needed.
• The trackpad, the smooth larger than even bigger laptops combined with macOS gestures and the force touch makes it appealing to use. The pressure sensitivity adds another neat feedback.
• Memory management. It has only 8GB physical ram but I still couldn’t push it to 50% memory pressure any way.
• The hinge. Smooth when needed and rigid when still.
• USB Type-C, for everything.
• How cold it runs even without active cooling.

Things I got disappointed or worried on

• The keyboard was kinda meh for me. Probably cuz I got used to more key travel …. still better than any other laptop keyboard I’ve ever used.
• Space gray color is more like silver.
• Gets smudges on the display glass. Especially over the camera when opening the lid with one hand.
• Sharp aluminum chassis edges.
